About Whitefield

Whitefield is a former Anglo-Indian settlement on Bangalore's eastern edge, founded in the 1880s and quiet for a century afterwards. The arrival of ITPL in the 1990s turned it into the city's first large tech suburb, and it now functions as a self-contained town with its own malls, schools and hospitals.

Metro changed it again. The Purple Line now runs into Whitefield with stations at ITPL, Hopefarm Junction and Kadugodi, which cut the journey to central Bangalore from an unpredictable drive to a fixed ride. Premium launches followed the line.

Apartments make up most of what we list, with a smaller villa segment and very little plotted land left. Three-bedroom homes are the common format by a wide margin. Flats in Whitefield here run from about ₹34 lakh to ₹15 crore with the middle near ₹1.79 crore, one of the widest spreads in the city. Prestige Group lists the most projects, ahead of Sumadhura Group and Brigade Group.
