Guthalu is a village in Mandya district on Old MC Road, the older Bangalore to Mysore highway, in the sugarcane belt watered by the Cauvery.

Its land market is driven almost entirely by that highway and by Bangalore buyers looking for plots at prices the city no longer offers. Local demand plays little part.
